What happens
Reflexology is a system of massage that works through specific points on the feet. It's suitable for all ages, and many people like to keep coming back for regular sessions.
Your session includes an aromatherapy foot bath, scrub and consultation, and hot towels. You stay fully clothed.
Bookings are with Marye and Pam.
Modern reflexology comes from the 1930s, when Eunice Ingham, an American nurse and physiotherapist, mapped the body onto the feet and gave the practice its name; William Fitzgerald's zone therapy of 1913 came first. Victoria's Better Health Channel describes a session as about an hour: a talk about your health, a gentle massage of the feet, then thumb and finger pressure on the reflex points, firm but never painful.
It's made for feet that are never off the ground, and for anyone who'd rather stay dressed.

Had the most amazing experience with Tara. From the onset the signature massage was so relaxing. Starting with a foot bath while Tara explaining the process. Being lead to the massage room that was dimly lit, with a calming scent, and beautiful sounds. The signature massage was just right with the warm oils, the wrapping of body to felt so nurturing, the placing of the heat packs on the body made me feel so secure and relaxed and ending of the sound bowl on each side of my head was grounding. The experience was divine I will make 1.5hr journey again to do it again. Highly recommend. My daughter also had the signature massage with Mary and she came out with the biggest smile on her face.
Read on GoogleMarye is a beautiful intuitive woman who genuinely cares about healing and balancing mind, body and spirit. I spent 2 days at Maiaveda retreat receiving individualised treatments including yoga, massage, reflexology, facials - that together transcended any previous body work experience. It was bliss. It was also opening to insights that shifted my understanding of relationships. Highly recommended. 💕
Read on GoogleRecently, I was treated to a heavenly massage experience courtesy of a gift voucher with Tara. Let me tell you, it was nothing short of divine! From the moment I stepped into the Maiaveda sanctuary, I felt like I was walking on air. Tara's warmth and expertise transported me to a state of pure bliss. Every detail of the Maiaveda signature treatment was meticulously thought out, from the heavenly foot soak in the tranquil room to the expert touch of Tara's hands, which seemed to possess their own wisdom. I found myself melting into the table, completely lost in the moment. But it wasn't just the treatment itself that left me in awe. The exquisite room, the warm oils, the soft towels – every little touch added to the experience, making it truly unforgettable.
Read on GoogleI happen on this place about a month back and had the best massage of my life (thanks Tara!). I headed back there for a couple nights stay just to have more treatments. I’ve now had an incredible facial, another massage and a hand and foot treatment. This little treasure is unique and fantastic and will probably make me a Kyneton regular!
Read on GoogleIt’s taken me almost a week to think of the words to describe my experience at Maiaveda. I was in a place I had never been before after a very challenging 18 month project. I was burnt out, riddled with stress and anxiety and wondering what next but with no confidence or energy to do much about it. Feeling this way, was a really tough pill to swallow as I am a resilient, strong woman and weathered a lot in my life. So I knew I needed to take action and I was sure it had to be focusing inward and spending time just on me. I had originally been seeking a group retreat that targeted mind, body and soul in their offerings but timing was never right or it was just a fancy resort with good food and spa treatments – I was looking for more. I came across Maiaveda and saw they offered personal 1:1 retreats, which was not quite what I wanted but everything else was perfect. I kept coming back to their page as I was really drawn to Mayre’s offerings. From the moment I called (and yes, there was a tear or three), Mayre was so accommodating finding me 3 nights within a week in a time where they were heavily booked and I was beyond grateful. I felt such a loving and genuine connection with Mayre immediately and I knew I had called the right place. When you enter Maiaveda, you literally feel like you are in a cocoon of love, warmth, care and acceptance. Every practitioner I worked with had a loving, warm energy about them and all genuinely there to care and look after you. Mayre put together a wonderful package for me – a mix of foot baths, facials, daily massage, shirodhara, reiki, sound healing, energy healing, yoga and meditation and I would not have changed a single element of it. The food was incredible and I also learnt more about Ayurveda and how I can better balance myself through food, movement and breath. I came away feeling like so much had shifted in me and that I was truly centered again, back in alignment, deeply relaxed and more focused than I have been in months. I have my mojo back and already embedding some of the learnings I took away with me so I can continue to keep myself in balance and to minimize fatigue and stress into the future. Thank you again Maiaveda for a truly wonderful experience. I will certainly return for a top up visit as I need it xx
Read on GoogleThe most exceptional experience. I had a 3 hour package and I have to say it was a treatment like no other. It started off with a foot soak, breathing and some chants followed off by the most amazing massage, reflexology and some reiki. I floated out on cloud 9. I could not recommend enough to spoil yourself. I also got some great tips on health and wellbeing. I will definitely be back very soon and have been telling all of my friends.
Read on GoogleYesterday I had the most amazing facial and massage with Claudia. From the moment I walked in I felt instantly nurtured, the whole experience made me feel taken care of. What an amazing place, the products used are beautiful and the ambience throughout was so relaxing. I would definitely book again the next time I am in Kyneton.
Read on GoogleMy husband Gary & I went to Maiaveda for a Panchakarma, an Ayurvedic cleanse. We had treatments that would help our bodies prepare for a very deep cleanse. It was an amazingly powerful and empowering life changing experience spiritually, emotionally physically and mentally. We were welcomed with a lot of warmth & reassurance. Each visit was filled a lot of genuine love, support and compassion. Nothing was ever too much trouble, you had Marye’s & her team 100% focus & attention. The treatment rooms were truely unique filled with loving calm energy. Both my husband & I could not recommend it more highly. A place well worth a visit.
Read on GoogleI had an absolutely incredible experience at Maiaveda!! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere was so calm and welcoming. The space is peaceful, and instantly puts you in relaxation mode. The massage itself was exactly what I needed, easily one of the best I’ve ever had. Claudia was highly skilled, attentive, and made sure to check in at the right moments. I felt completely rejuvenated and relaxed afterwards. You can tell that everyone who works there is truly passionate about what they do, wanting to make sure everyone has the best experience possible. I can’t wait to book my next appointment. Highly recommend. Xx
Read on GoogleWe had a great time at Maiaveda health retreat and spa. It was my husband's birthday and we booked massages for my family. They even had option for our 7 years old daughter. Clean rooms, clean towels, great ambiance and very accomodating girls. Claudia made sure that i am comfortable throughout my massage as i have several back issues and it gets really hard for me sometimes to lie flat on bed. Pressure was perfect. Oils smelled great. My daughter and husband had great time as well. They also treated us with some goodies in the end for my husbands birthday and we loved the jesture. My new favorite spa in Melbourne.
Read on GoogleMy previous experiences with massage & facials have been per functionary to address an injury or in the lead up to special event. How lovely then that my two hours experience was a purely selfish indulgence. I was kept warm the whole time and even drifted off to sleep! Can't recommend Pam or the service I experienced highly enough!
