What happens

Modern knowledge and old practice in one session. Four of the five parts are Ayurvedic therapies in their own right, run in the order that makes each one work better than it would alone.

Rest for as long as you need with a cup of herbal Ayurvedic tea before returning to reality.

Garshan is the dry rub with a raw silk glove that Ayurveda places before oil. Udvartana is the powder massage: the Ashtanga Hridayam puts it in the daily regimen, herbal powder rubbed over the body against the direction of the hair. Swedana is the sudation the Charaka Samhita gives after oiling, and here it's a steam tent with your head outside it.

In Ayurveda the powder rub is given for kapha, the heavy and slow of the three doshas, and for spring, when kapha gathers, and the steam is given for vata and kapha. It's made for a body that feels heavy and wants moving.

  1. Aromatherapy foot bathFirst.
  2. GarshanA full body dry brush with raw silk gloves.
  3. UdvartanaA massage with triphala herbal powder that exfoliates the skin.
  4. Herbal oil massageIncluding the feet and lower legs.
  5. SwedanaThe steam tent, head outside, so it works from the neck down.

From one tired and sore mum, the pregnancy massage was beyond incredible. From the moment I walked up the stairs to Maiaveda, I felt a sense of peace. Marye welcomed me with such warmth, and the beautiful aromas instantly made me feel relaxed. The oils smelled divine and felt so nourishing on my skin. Claudia’s massage was amazing — I actually walked out feeling like I was floating. I’ll definitely be back. It wasn’t just a massage; it was a whole mind and body reset. I’m so grateful to have experienced this

I’ve been visiting Maiaveda for the past six years, and it continues to be my absolute sanctuary. Every experience is consistently nurturing, professional, and deeply restorative especially through my pregnancies. During my current pregnancy, I had massage with Claudia, and she was incredible. All the therapists knowledge, care, and intuition make me feel completely supported and safe each time. They all have a beautiful way of adapting the treatment to exactly what your body needs, and I always walk out feeling lighter, calmer, and genuinely cared for. The environment at Maiaveda is warm, peaceful, and truly holistic exactly what you want when looking to unwind or reconnect with yourself. I recommend it wholeheartedly, especially for pregnancy care. It’s a place where you can trust you’ll be looked after with kindness and expertise.

Marye has created a true sanctuary. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I felt completely enveloped in a sense of peace. Marye radiates a genuine, warm and nurturing energy that is incredibly rare to find. She took the time to listen to exactly what my body and mind needed, tailoring the experience with such profound care and kindness. During the treatment, I felt completely safe to let go and deeply rest. If you are looking for a place to heal, unwind, and feel genuinely nurtured from head to toe, this is it. I cannot wait to return.

I attended the Women's Embodiment Retreat at Hepburn Springs. It was a beautiful peaceful setting. Mayre has a warm, generous, nurturing and healing spirit, as does her team that assist her, and makes the whole weekend flow effortlessly. A beautiful balance of yoga, meditation, life lesson wisdom and different workshops to try eg drumming and shigong, hammam experience, massages on offer, hot tub and cold plunge, a firepit circle at night, delicious food. This is a soul nourishing retreat, no pressure, welcoming, with other like minded women sharing a weekend together, looking for sustenance to continue with our busy lives. A weekend of self care. All I had to do was show up. Mayre took care of the rest. Highly recommended.

A 3 day self initiated self care "intervention " at Maiaveda Holistic Health Retreat and Spa was one of the best decisions I have made in recent times! With utter professionalism and attention to care, Marye tailored my experience to encompass physical care and clarity of thought. The treatments provided by Maggie, Pam were so powerful yet performed with the ultimate caring touch, that you had no other choice but to go to a space where all thoughts and experiences were welcomed, noticed and calmly processed. Marye's vast international and corporate experiences are validated by providing the platform for you to come to obvious conclusions. A final yoga experience with Patricia is also not to be missed! The local food was excellent and adaptive to those of us with a few culinary challenges I leave in a much better space, with tools for work on's but miss my new friends in Kyneton already! You need to experience this, your body, mind and soul will be eternally grateful.

I opted for the retreat with Marye over the many options available in Aus and O/S. I’m so grateful I did, it was exactly what I needed. Marye and team are exceptionally kind with a calm, caring nature that kept me pampered and cocooned inside and out. I left feeling lighter and brighter in body and spirit. The property at St Agnes for the retreat accomodation is also so charming and even more so with Kyneton in Autumn, lovely hosts too. Reading in the sunroom at St Agnes between treatments with Marye and team will be a treasured memory of mine for many years to come. I left with practical tips and support on how to take some of these wonderful practices back into everyday life. Thank you Marye and team, I look forward to visiting again and couldn’t recommend you more highly.

Booked a 4 hour intensive personalised healing journey. Marye's expertise is outstanding. She was able to conceptualise my experiences and goals and give direct advice and guidance to deal with issues. The body and healing treatments had a profound impact, which continues to reveal its benefits 2 weeks later. Highly recommend Maiaveda!

A wonderful experience with Joanne... I had really low energy, physically and mentally exhausted prior to my Somatic Bodywork session. I felt a sense of peace and much lighter following the session, thank you so much Joanne!
